PENN COLLEGE ALUMNI CAMPAIGN PROJECT

The Pennsylvania College of Technology is a nationally-ranked leader in hands-on learning and real-world technology application. Through the benefits of philanthropy on behalf of their alumni, donors, and other constituents, they are able to further opportunities, facilities, and equipment for the next generation of “Tomorrow Makers”.

As my senior capstone project, I decided to plan, conceptualize, design, produce, and present a fundraising campaign that would target Penn College alumni to educate and persuade on the importance of donations towards Penn College programs. This also includes elements that educate current students as well. This decision was made based on my experience working as a student in Admissions and Institutional Advancement, where I engaged with prospective and current students, alumni, and donors.

Deliverables include: Stationery package, mailed Giving Information Packet (ft. large envelope, student/alumni/campus spotlight card, information update card, fast facts card, donation-return card, and bandana), 3 Impact Report Ads, First Year Experience course presentation, and 3 Social Media Posts.

The map-trail-like graphics throughout the campaign were inspired by the different, yet overlapping journeys students pave on their way to success. The message reflects the impact on students and alumni through statistics, stories, and other college content. The color scheme comes as something that compliments the overall college branding, but designed so that the campaign can be identifiable on its own. The color pallet also reflects many of the Penn College colors, but also includes warm primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) to represent the “primary” skills Penn College provides its students and the colorful campus.

To produce the final pieces, I worked with the Document Services/Printing Department at Penn College. Approaching this project, I wanted to create a campaign that could actually be put into place, which led me to focus on in-house production and feasibility. By discussing the pieces, I was able to determine size, finish, and type of printing based on limits of Penn College’s in-house printing.
